All the vineyards that make up Casa de Mouraz are cultivated organically, free from herbicides and synthetic agrochemicals, and have been certified by ECOCERT since 1996. Soil fertilisation is based on seed plantings and organic composts. Treatments rely on copper, sulphur, seaweed, clay, plant infusions and other natural products. The defining concept of biodynamic agriculture is respect for the soil, the plants, humanity, and life in its diversity and physical, physicochemical, and above all ecological integrity. A less manipulated soil produces a more authentic wine, the ultimate expression of the terroir, the place, and the vineyard in which it was grown. At the end of 2006 work also began in biodynamics, with the goal of taking this pursuit of harmony between soil, plants, animals and humans even further. (illustrative image only)
