In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the trade of cereals. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation they have stood out for the rigor and expertise devoted to Port, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. At the turn of the millennium Burmester was still owned by Amorim until it was acquired by the Sogevinus group, the current owner. Burmester can be considered a harvest specialist, with magnificent harvests at its disposal that it regularly releases. Its Vintage Ports remain of excellent quality, shining in great vintage years.
