Caballo Loco Maipo is a Chilean Grand Cru made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes grown on the slopes of the Maipo Valley, where the climate is cool and the autumns are long, allowing these varieties to express their most distinctive and charismatic characteristics. An elegant, structured red wine with firm tannins and aromas of black fruit, cassis, and spices. Valdivieso’s history dates back to 1879, the year when Don Alberto Valdivieso founded Champagne Valdivieso, becoming the first sparkling‑wine producer in Chile and South America. Since then, Viña Valdivieso has established itself as a category leader in the domestic and South‑American markets, recently expanding its reach to Europe and Asia. More than a century after its founding, Valdivieso began producing still wines in the Curicó Valley. Today, with two production centers—one dedicated to all sparkling wines and another to still wines—it is recognized worldwide, raising the appreciation for Chilean wine. Caballo Loco is the first Chilean wine brand that, in 1994, emerged as a single red wine blending multiple vintages and is inspired by the energetic personality of its founder, Jorge Coderch.
