Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines sold, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos is increasingly fulfilling the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑owned, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines have long been synonymous with time and art. This legacy dates back to its 18th‑century founding by Bernardo Ferreira, whose formula was refined by successive generations, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira. She was affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her region. When, after being widowed twice, she took the helm of the business, Ferreirinha rose to great prominence.
