Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, and a long‑term vision rooted in the quality of the wines they market, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of their products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑owned company with an international focus, dedicated to producing quality wines, innovating, and developing Portuguese brands of global stature. It owns about 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. Since its establishment in the 18th century by Bernardo Ferreira, the formula has been refined by descendants, especially by his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by locals. Under Dona Antónia’s stewardship—after being widowed twice and finding herself at the helm of a large enterprise—Ferreira solidified itself admirably. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to foresee, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a figure of great influence and charisma.
