Vinha Grande is a classic, intense red blend that reflects the richness of its region in the creation of high-quality blended wines. Part of the Casa Ferreirinha portfolio, a pioneer in exceptional Douro wines with global renown, Vinha Grande stands out for its deep ruby colour and complex aromas, which reveal hints of wild berries, notes of asparagus and artichoke, and subtle spices. Well-integrated oak accentuates its singular character. On the palate it shows volume, balanced acidity, polished tannins and black fruit, culminating in a long, harmonious finish. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and artistry. This has been the case since the house was founded in the 18th century by Bernardo Ferreira, whose refined formula was perfected by his descendants, especially his granddaughter, Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as "Ferreirinha" or "Ferreirinha-da-Régua" by the people of her homeland. Under Dona Antónia, who was widowed twice and found herself at the head of a major company, Ferreira became remarkably well established. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to foresee, decide, create, teach and love, making her a figure of great prominence and charisma. Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, and with a long-term vision built on the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand innovation and the presentation of its wines.
