Casal das Aires is a family-owned estate in the Tejo wine region, focused on organic cultivation and premium wines. Joana Pinhão was born in Alpiarça, a land with a deep winemaking tradition rooted in its people. Naturally, she devoted herself to the world of wine and vines, joining notable projects such as the enology team at Quinta Vale Dona Maria, while also pursuing personal ventures. Seeing the recognition the Tejo region has been gaining, the idea to advance her dream emerged. In 2015, she reconverted her vineyards in the Charneca, where she invested in a range of national varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira, Bastardo, Bical, Arinto, Fernão Pires, Alvarinho, Loureiro, Avesso, as well as some international ones like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet. The first wine from this new challenge, Casal das Aires, was released in 2019.
