Very elegant and refined, a modern style that retains the soul of the native Douro grapes. Its aroma harmoniously blends the intense concentration of Douro reds with all their complexity: wild fruit, plum, spices, very expressive violets, and fresh hints of basil and bergamot. Aging for eight months in both new and used French oak barrels gives a wine of great aromatic elegance, where Douro character is not overwhelmed by excessive oak notes. The tannins are very smooth and mature, the wine is fresh and aromatic, exceptionally elegant, with an unusually long finish. Rui Roboredo Madeira’s Durienses wines are produced in the cellar in São João da Pesqueira, where everything started in 1999. The first wine released bore the Castello D'Alba label, which is still sold today. In one of the most remote parts of the Iberian Peninsula, in the Raia area between the Upper Douro and Beira Alta, Rui’s family-born passion for the aromas and scents of the land shaped his character. After years of experience and adventures elsewhere, Rui brings back to his roots what he has learned, launching a personal wine‑making project always with maximum respect for nature.
