Bottles of older wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, in keeping with their age. Garrafeira Nacional undertakes to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but always chooses to maintain the visual appearance inherent to their age. We have selected brands and regions that, as a rule, reveal distinctive characteristics in tastings of aged wines. However, please be aware that wine is a living organism which, exposed to time, will continue to evolve its aromas even while sealed inside a bottle. For this reason, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the quality of the product, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe beforehand, as this will help release its natural aromas after so many years in the bottle. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, be sure to do so patiently so you can detect the sediment that an old wine tends to form. (image for illustrative purposes only)
