Krug House was founded in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a nonconformist visionary with an uncompromising philosophy. Having understood that the true essence of Champagne is pleasure itself, his dream was to craft the best Champagne each year, regardless of the annual climate variations. By paying attention to the character of the vineyard, respecting the individuality of each plot—and of its wine—he built an extensive library of reserve wines from different years, allowing Joseph Krug to produce Champagne with a distinct level of excellence.
