“Born from the ambition of the Léglise family and later Paul Chaperon’s vision, L’Évangile is, fundamentally, a project of the Domaines Barons de Rothschild – one where they ensured the vineyard was “cared for with the same dedication” since 1990. The complete cellar renovation in 2004 was a significant investment, but it’s the ongoing vineyard restoration since 1998 that truly speaks to the care taken with this Gran Seleção terroir. A wine that, frankly, deserves to be enjoyed with something rich – perhaps a good slice of Iberian ham or a perfectly cooked orange duck, given its considerable age and pedigree.”
