The bottles of old wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is to be expected given their age. Garrafeira Nacional commits to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but always opts to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We conduct a selection of brands/regions that, by default, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we inform that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle, its aromas are subject to different evolutions. Therefore, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the product quality, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate beforehand, as this will help release its natural aromas after so many years of closure. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, make sure to do so patiently to detect the appearance of sediment, which a typical old wine tends to develop. (Illustrative image only)
