This little Combro white is a genuine Douro enigma, painstakingly crafted with a blend of *Couve de Cabeça* grapes that clearly had a long chat with the schistous terroir of Vilarinho de Cotas. Grown on those tight “*combros*” – slopes that have seemingly witnessed centuries – the wine delivers a striking minerality. Built around Rabigato with a prominent Alvarinho, it’s a vibrant wine bursting with citrus and floral notes, perfect for a versatile dining experience, especially alongside grilled fish, or perhaps simply while discussing its fascinating heritage. This family’s legacy, rooted in A. A. Cálem & Filho, Lda., now in the hands of the sixth generation, ensures this Douro gem continues to tell its story.
