The Delaforce family, of Huguenot origin, has a wine‑trade heritage that stretches back more than 400 years. Their involvement in the Port wine business dates to 1834, when John Fleurriet Delaforce travelled to Porto to establish a new branch of Martinez Gassiot on behalf of his partners. In 1868, his son George Henry Delaforce, inspired by the richness of the Douro and the world of Port, founded his own company, the House of Delaforce. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
