Very little remains to be said, or written, about the most renowned and envied of all the producers in Burgundy, and indeed in the world. The history of the Domaine is intertwined with that of the Côte de Nuits itself, spanning eras and fashions to arrive at the present day. The Société Civile du Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) is run by two families, the Leroy and the Villaine, represented respectively by Henry-Frederic Roch, nephew of Mme Lalou Bize-Leroy, and Aubert de Villaine. The wines are absolutely brilliant in their purity, precision and lightness. They have enormous aging potential, some even needing a good ten years in the cellar before revealing their full glory.
