Pale yellow, with bright green highlights. A fine, persistent and abundant mousse. Delicate, refined aromas combine notes of green apple and pear, with echoes of sun-ripened Mediterranean fruit (melon, peach and pineapple) over a base of citrus. All are beautifully balanced by toasty notes from bottle aging. The palate is refreshing, balancing green and citrus fruit. It is light and elegant. In 1861, in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, the Sala family founded a business producing and exporting quality wines. At the beginning of the 20th century, the marriage of Dolores Sala and Pedro Ferrer revolutionized the business by combining Dolores's winemaking expertise with Pedro's commercial acumen and spirit of innovation. From this union came the Freixenet brand, one of the largest producers of Cava. The first bottle bearing the brand name appeared in 1911. From that first bottle to the present day, the brand has continued to be guided by its values. Today, in addition to producing its own grapes, Freixenet also sources from more than 2,000 growers in the region, making it one of the most iconic Cava producers in the world.
