Originating from the Baga grape and cultivated on century‑old vines planted in poor, rocky soils, Giz is a wine of elegance and complexity, aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. Its delicate, well‑defined aroma showcases prominent mature red fruit, complemented by floral nuances, cedar, vanilla, coffee, licorice, and hints of forest soil. On the palate it is elegant, mineral‑rich and fresh, reflecting the limestone soils of its origin. It is a deep, structured and complex wine, with a long, persistent finish. Born in Bairrada, between the foot of Serra do Buçaco and the sea, Giz uniquely expresses the characteristics of the limestone soils from which it comes. Produced from native grapes on century‑old vines in poor, rocky soils, the intervention in the winemaking process is minimal, both in the vineyard and the cellar. After artisanal vinification, the wine rests for eight months in French oak barrels to produce a mask‑free nectar that is authentic, structured, elegant and complex, full of individuality and character.
