You’re immediately greeted with intense notes of wild berries and black plum, beautifully complemented by the vanilla nuance imparted by the ageing in oak. On the palate, the tannins are incredibly smooth, almost dancing, and the finish is remarkably persistent with a lovely smoky trace – a rather unexpected twist that perfectly echoes the Douro’s slopes. Wonderful with a hearty roast.
