Made from Chardonnay grapes that are hand‑picked and selected, the wine ferments entirely in French oak barrels, resulting in a run of 600 bottles. It presents an exuberant aroma with notes of ripe fruit. On the palate, the acidity is perfectly balanced with a creamy texture, and a delicate hint of oak still stands out. The Herdade Canal Caveira estate sits on the border between two major wine regions—Setúbal Peninsula and Alentejo—at the foot of Serra de Grândola, where it receives the maritime influence of the Atlantic Ocean, creating a unique microclimate. With about 45 hectares, of which 25 are planted with vines, the estate is not solely focused on viticulture but also on olive groves, orange trees, cork oaks, olive trees, and pines. The vineyards are planted on sandy soils and feature around 18 different grape varieties, broadening the wine profiles and making them elegant, complex, and persistent.
