Dez Tostões red is a wine full of personality, with an intense and deep ruby colour. On the nose, it reveals a warm and captivating aroma, where notes of wild black fruits stand out, wrapped in a subtle touch of spice. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with well-present tannins that give it structure and character. A red from Alentejo that perfectly combines the elegance of Touriga Nacional, the depth of Alicante Bouschet and the versatility of Aragonês, resulting in a balanced and enveloping wine. Herdade da Maroteira lies at the foot of the Serra D'Ossa and spans 540 hectares. It has belonged to the same Anglo-Portuguese family for five generations, since the mid-19th century. At that time, Robert Reynolds invested in the Alentejo cork oak woodland to meet the needs of the Port wine industry in northern Portugal, and for around 150 years, the estate's production focused on cork and livestock. Only in 2000 did Philip Mollet, the estate's current owner and manager, revolutionise the property's strategy and plant vineyards. Since then, the estate has produced excellent Alentejo wines based on its favourite grape variety, Syrah. The vineyard covers 15 hectares planted on clay-limestone soils, giving the wines the authentic character of the Alentejo. (image for illustrative purposes only)
