Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world. Its long‑term vision has always centered on the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos is increasingly living up to the goal it set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since its establishment, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s premier wine regions, and naturally the Alentejo region has always sparked a desire to launch a project that could bring the quality of Alentejo wines to consumers. In 1998, the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed, and it quickly positioned itself in the national market for its ability to offer wines of varying complexity and style.
