The Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision rooted in the quality of the wines it markets, the importance of brand novelty, and the presentation of its wines. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal it set at its founding: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company owns about 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Since 1942, it has been investing in the country’s main wine regions, and as expected, the Alentejo region has always sparked the desire to launch a project capable of delivering consumers the quality of Alentejo wines. Thus, in 1998, the acquisition of Herdade do Peso was completed, quickly positioning itself in the national market for its ability to offer different levels of complexity and styles of wines.
