Founded in the early 1980s, Le Macchiole is one of Bolgheri’s historic wineries and has, over the years, become a benchmark for quality Tuscan wine. The founders, Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli, were among the region’s pioneers and played a pivotal role in bolstering Bolgheri’s growing reputation, thanks to their work in crafting wines full of personality that have become a symbol of the area. Today, Cinzia runs the business with essential support from her sons Elia and Mattia, who have become important figures, alongside a close-knit team of enthusiastic colleagues. Le Macchiole is in constant adaptation and continual evolution, guided by a careful, contemporary understanding of wine and terroir.
