Produced in exceptional years, Bluníssima comes from a 40‑year‑old vineyard and is the result of the producer’s meticulous care. Made from the Aragonês grape, it matured in French and American oak barrels for 13 months and finished its aging in a stainless‑steel tank for an additional six months before bottling. Thus, this red wine displays a deep ruby colour, with aromas of ripe red fruit, forest notes and subtle menthol undertones, evoking pleasant leather hints. Well‑integrated oak notes, a product of its time, reveal sweet and smoky spice elements, all anchored by a limestone‑based foundation. On the palate it is seductive and refined, with a captivating body and freshness, robust yet delicate tannins. The finish is enveloping and extended, showing great potential for bottle ageing. Monte Bluna began its wine journey in the Lisbon region when it acquired a small parcel of 40‑year‑old vines. The six hectares at altitude, flanked by the Atlantic and the Tagus, are now cultivated to craft wines that express a unique and harmonious character, perfectly balanced with the environment.
