According to its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust residue on the bottles and/or some label damage—common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We typically select brands/regions that usually perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like all others, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given that it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle air out first, which will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years of being sealed.
