Entering the Port wine market as a trader, he quickly set up a business that would prove prosperous and forward‑looking. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a prominent figure in the world of wine, recognised as one of the most important personalities working for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his own legacy with those who continually create bold wines.
