Niepoort O Vinho Redoma Reserva Branco is made from grapes grown on old vines planted at 600 metres altitude on micaceous soils. Since its inception in 1995, the primary goal in producing this wine has been to express the character of the Douro’s old vines. **Winemaking** The white wines fully embody Niepoort’s profile, standing out for their tension, freshness, and energy—qualities that define the house’s identity. The grapes were rigorously selected upon arrival at the cellar, followed by a slow, gentle pressing. Without skin contact, the must rested for 24 hours before a slow, barrel fermentation. Redoma Reserva aged in barrels for nine months. Malolactic fermentation was carried out to completion. **Year** The 2024 vintage was marked by a warm, wet winter that significantly replenished the soil’s water reserves. Above‑average temperatures extended into spring, while summer presented the typical Douro profile: hot and dry. Thanks to the vine’s balance and the good water availability in the soil, the vegetative cycle progressed regularly and healthily, yielding high‑quality grapes. In the Demarcated Region of the Douro, 2024 proved to be a balanced and consistent production year, very close to that of 2023.
