In the national wine landscape, no producer enjoys more consensus than Niepoort, and its long history began in 1842 when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. Entering the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable figure in the world of wine and recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and better understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those for whom he is always creating irreverent wines.
