In Portugal’s wine scene, there is no producer more respected than Niepoort, whose long history dates back to 1842 when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in the country. Starting out as a trader in the Port wine market, he quickly set up a business that would prove prosperous and lasting. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort emerged, a prominent figure in the wine world, recognised as one of the most important personalities dedicated to Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his own legacy alongside those constantly creating bold wines.
