In Portugal's wine panorama, there is no producer more consensual than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort to arrive in the country. Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a pivotal figure in the world of wines, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also shaping his own legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort collaborates on many other projects, across practically all national wine regions and some foreign ones.
