Redoma Reserva is a white wine from the Douro that perfectly captures the character of the region’s old vineyards. Made from grapes grown on vines older than 80 years, planted at altitude on micaceous soils, it aims from its very origin to express depth, elegance and identity. Fermented spontaneously in French oak barrels, where it ages over fine lees, it offers great complexity and a structure marked by mineralty and freshness. In the nose it reveals floral notes in harmony with the wood, while on the palate it is vibrant and precise, finishing with a long, slightly saline finish. In the national wine panorama there is no producer more consensual than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort to arrive in Portugal. Starting in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an inescapable figure in the wine world, recognised as one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vines, while also building his legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines.
