Starting out as a port wine trader, he quickly established a thriving and forward‑looking business. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, a leading figure in the wine world recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked and continues to work for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also crafting his own legacy with those always creating bold wines.
