Made exclusively from the Sauvignon Blanc grape, this Quinta da Pacheca shows a greenish-yellow colour and a fresh aroma full of fruit and white flowers. On the palate it is very fresh and smooth, with good acidity and persistence. Quinta da Pacheca, one of the best-known estates in the Douro, stands out for having been one of the first to bottle its own branded wines. The name of this Quinta has been recorded since 17 April 1738, when a dated document first refers to the "Quinta da Pacheca," owned at the time by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was not until 1903 that D. José Freire de Serpa Pimentel, whose growing interest in oenology had led him to dedicate himself to wine production, purchased the property. Today, a century later, the new generation of the Serpa Pimentel family has taken over management of the Quinta: Maria, Catarina and José are the young faces of this strongly family-run company.
