According to its age, the wines may show signs left by time, such as dust on the bottles and/or some label damage—common in wines that have been stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional ensures that all wines are stored at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always preserves the visual appearance inherent to their age. We typically select regions that usually perform well in vintage wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even in a bottle its aromas are subject to different evolutions. Therefore, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle breathe first, as this will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed.
