A Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines it marketed, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its wines. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing globally competitive Portuguese brands. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. Since its founding in the 18th century by Bernardo Ferreira, who refined the formula through his descendants—especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her land—this tradition has endured. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership, who, after being widowed twice, found herself at the helm of a large enterprise, the Ferreirinha firm rose admirably.
