Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long-term vision built on the quality of the wines it markets, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its wines. Led today by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos is increasingly faithful to the goal it has pursued since its founding: to be a family-owned company with an international vocation, focused on producing quality wines, on innovation, and on developing Portuguese brands of global standing. Sogrape Vinhos owns around 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and artistry. This has been the case since its founding in the 18th century by Bernardo Ferreira, whose refined formula was perfected by his descendants, especially his granddaughter, Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as "Ferreirinha" or "Ferreirinha-da-Régua" by the people of her hometown. Under Dona Antónia, who was widowed twice and found herself at the helm of a large company, Ferreira became remarkably well established.
