Pêra‑Manca Pêra‑Manca is the brand that Adega Cartuxa reserves for exceptional wines. It was first produced by Fundação Eugénio de Almeida in 1990. **Soil Type** Granite **Vinification** Made from the Aragonez and Trincadeira varieties, carefully harvested and selected. The grapes come from chosen plots of vineyards over 30 years old, where ripening occurs gradually, without excessive water stress, preserving the aromatic potential and natural extract of the varieties. Once the grapes reach the ideal level of ripeness, they are transported to the winery, where they undergo total destemming, rigorous optical selection, and gentle crushing. Fermentation takes place in French oak vats at controlled temperature, followed by an extended post‑fermentation maceration. The wine ages for 18 months in French oak barrels, then continues to mature in bottles in the caves of the Cartuxa Monastery.
