The Vila Flor Winery (AVL) was founded in 1962 and is located in the northeast of Portugal. The winery employs modern winemaking technologies and qualified professionals capable of producing high‑quality wine. Every year, the winery receives about 2 million kilos of grapes harvested from vineyards situated within the Douro Wine Denomination of Controlled Origin (DOC). The native grape varieties (Medieval cultivars) are essentially the following: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, and Moscatel. These varieties give rise to wines with unique complexity and richness, characteristic of Douro wines. White wines are made from Malvasia Fina, Gouveio, Rabigato, and Viosinho grapes. Moscatel production uses the Moscatel Galego cultivar. These wines are subject to rigorous control at every stage of development, and certification bodies examine the winemaking process to preserve quality and distinctive characteristics.
