Quinta da Romaneira Year: The red harvest began on September 9 and finished on October 18, taking place under mild temperatures and, mostly, dry weather. Opportunistic rains were recorded on September 21 and 22, as well as October 14 and 17, totaling 47.8 mm. Harvest was suspended on these days to preserve the quality of the musts. The year stood out for the natural acidity of the wines, with relatively low pH and high total acidity, giving a rare freshness in the Douro. The Petit Verdot variety was harvested on October 5, 7, and 9. Vinification: Fermentation took place in stainless‑steel tanks for 10 days. Partial malolactic fermentation was carried out in both tank and in French oak barrels. Staging: 100 % of the batch aged in wood for 10 months, of which 30 % in new French oak barrels (225 litres). Bottling: May 2021.
