Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has undertaken a long journey, establishing itself as one of Portugal’s most innovative wine producers. The company’s activity began with the production of wines from grapes grown in the Palmela region. Throughout the 1980s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal began expanding, acquiring properties across the national territory and creating new paradigms for Quality wine production. It is at Quinta do Carmo that the winemaking centre for all its Alentejo wines is located. Equipped with modern technology, this cellar can produce 3 million litres. (illustrative image)
