The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged and bottled on the estate, situated on the northern bank of the Douro, near Pinhão, in the Gontelho sub‑region, long renowned for the excellence of its vineyards. At the end of the 19th century the estate was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, ancestor of the present owners. Since taking over the property the Roseira family has progressively increased the vineyard area and specialised in the production and ageing of fine wines. In 1979 the first Quinta Port wines were launched, reviving a tradition that had been lost for more than 50 years. The estate spans about 23 hectares of vines, classified with the highest rating in the Demarcated Region of the Douro, and this status has inspired the refinement of traditional pressing techniques, resulting in natural Port wines of the highest quality.
