The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged, and bottled on the estate, located on the northern bank of the Douro near Pinhão in the Gontelho sub‑region, long known for the excellence of its vineyards. At the end of the 19th century the estate was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, ancestor of the current managers. Since acquiring the property the Roseira family has progressively increased the vineyard area and specialised in the production and ageing of Fine Wines. In 1979 the first Quinta Port wines were sold, reviving an ancient tradition that had been lost for more than 50 years. The estate spans about 23 hectares of vines, classified with the highest designation in the Demarcated Region of the Douro (Class A), and uses this as inspiration to refine traditional winemaking techniques in the press, leveraging the excellent grapes grown there to create natural Port wines of the utmost quality.
