Situated within the city of Estremoz, the Quinta stands out for its beauty and its history, featuring a palatial 18th‑century building, valuable gardens, groves, ornamental hedges, vats and other 18th‑century works of art, and today also for its excellent wines. For many years it was owned by the Zagalo family, who used it as a holiday home, but unfortunately in 1974, with the 25th of April Revolution, the house and estate were seized and left abandoned. In 1979 the property was bought by Miguel Louro, who remains the owner today and began wine production in the 1980s. (illustrative image)
