Depending on its age, wines may show signs left by time, such as dust residues on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels—common in wines that have been stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always opts to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We usually select brands/regions that typically perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas are subject to different evolutions. Thus, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the wine's quality, given that it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle breathe beforehand, as this will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed.
