São Domingos Garrafeira 2016 is an elegant, structured red wine crafted from Touriga Nacional, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, it delivers intense aromas of ripe red fruit, floral nuances and subtle toasted hints. On the palate it shows excellent body, well‑integrated tannins and delicate spice notes, culminating in a long, seductive finish with great persistence. Since 1937 Caves do Solar de São Domingos has produced sparkling wines, aged brandy, bagaceira brandy, and Bairrada and Dão wines. Its cellars house more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, thousands of bottled wines, and hundreds of French‑oak barrels for its renowned vinous brandies. The “São Domingos” Bagaceira brandy, produced in its own distilleries, continues to lead the market with its enduring quality. In 2006 a modern winemaking centre was inaugurated, allowing the reception of a thousand tonnes of grapes from the company’s own estates and from growers partnering with the business. Continuous innovation in production and winemaking methods has raised the quality and prestige of the house’s wines, reinforcing São Domingos’ competitive standing.
