For many years, the tradition at Quinta de São Luiz was to paint the stone walls white. These white walls are cherished pieces of history that still exist today and highlight the Douro landscape in a unique way. Pieces of history that support the vineyards and the know‑how of many generations. Kopke chose to pay homage to this refined terroir, reviving the tradition of painting stone walls white and branding their DOC Douro São Luiz wines. It is a fusion of past and present that gives these wines a unique character.
