The Alto vineyard is situated in the heart of Tapada de Coelheiros, on a gentle slope, surrounded by a walnut orchard, a meadow and a tranquil pine forest that inspired the wine’s name. The soils, of granitic origin, are deep and clay‑rich, making this the largest area of white varieties – especially Arinto – that gives rise to the wine. Organic matter is moderate (1.5 %); recent years have seen a major effort to improve ground cover by planting legumes between the rows, promoting natural nitrogen fixation and the element’s natural cycle. The vine is trained on a bilateral Guyot system, encouraging good fertility, optimising skin‑to‑pulp ratio and yielding wines with strong aromatic definition and verticality in the palate. Certified organic since 2019.
