Tordo The grapes for this wine are hand‑picked from the oldest Alvarinho vines. Weekly bâtonnage was carried out for four months to achieve the wine’s ideal structure. Viticulture: Basto is the most inland sub‑region of the Vinho Verde area, with Mondim de Basto being the only Transmontano municipality bearing that designation. Located at a medium‑high altitude, it is naturally sheltered from sea winds. The soil is largely granite, providing a mineral terroir perfect for the region’s principal white varieties—Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto, and Azal. The climate is more austere, with cold, wet winters and hot, dry summers, favouring these grapes. The beauty of this rural area is matched only by the magnificent Tâmega River that surrounds all our vineyards. Vinification: The harvest is manual, using native grapes that are boxed in 25 kg crates and transported to the cellar. The winemaking follows a total destemming, light pressing, and decantation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. No malolactic fermentation or wood is used. The wine is clarified and microfiltered immediately before bottling, ensuring its microbiological stability. 100 % vegan‑friendly. Ideal with pasta, rice, shellfish, grilled fish and white meats. A complex wine for enjoyment before or during meals, with a distinct gastronomic character.
