This Três Bagos Reserva is a seriously impressive wine – the colour alone suggests it’s going to deliver. It’s built around 25% new French oak alongside some second-fill, which clearly contributes to the remarkable complexity, largely thanks to the Touriga Nacional and Aragonez. Expect a vibrant, intensely fruity expression on the palate, beautifully balanced by a lively acidity and tannins that have been handled with a noticeable respect for their texture. Seriously, it’s fantastic with a good grilled steak – you’ve been warned!
