The Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba e Alvito was founded in 1960, but its history extends far beyond its 60 years of existence. It was created to protect the vineyard, the wine, and the millennia‑old lifestyle of this Alentejo sub‑region, while further investing in wines of renown and quality. With an annual output of around 6 million litres of wine and 8 million kilograms of grapes per harvest—derived from the cultivation of roughly 1,500 hectares of vineyard owned by its about 300 members—it is today a modern and prominent wine cooperative.
